Legacy:
Theodorus Antonides left a remarkable legacy with his book OLYMPIA. Unfortunately, only five copies of the 1732 edition of OLYMPIA are known to exist. A reissue of the book followed in 1733. Four copies of this edition are still known to exist.Â

In 1984, OLYMPIA appears in a reprint of 278 copies, of which 5 copies in parchment with gold lettering (NRC = 17-07-1984 ).
A survey of Olympic experts in the Netherlands quickly reveals that Theodorus Antonides is relatively unknown to many, let alone his book OLYMPIA.The question then quickly arises: why have we forgotten this author in general, and his book OLYMPIA in particular? Despite the fact that he did something remarkable. I don't have the answer to that question yet, but it does provide a nice subtitle for this website: Theodorus Antonides - Forgotten in Olympia.
